چکیده

Researchers at Iowa State University (ISU) are developing next generation wind tunnels for studying primarily wind effects on structures. The Wind Simulation and Testing Laboratory in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics will house facilities that simulate straight-line, thunderstormand tornado-like winds. This paper describes the motivation for advancing the state of the art of wind-structure interaction problems and the work currently underway at ISU.
